William 'Billy" C. Doherty

William C. "Billy" Doherty passed away suddenly on September 8, 2022, survived by his beloved wife Debora J. Whittenbarger. Loving brother of Deborah A. Gilpin (William Gilpin), Jeanne C. Wyble, James F. Doherty III, Robert J. Doherty (Brenda Doherty) and Julie D. Hawkins. Niece and nephews Jacqueline Watkins (Chet Watkins), Joel Gilpin (Janice Gilpin), Cody Doherty (Kindyl Doherty), Cory Doherty, Joseph Hawkins, and Lyle Hawkins, along with great-nieces Cecilia Gilpin, Karlye Gilpin, and Adeline Doherty, grandnephews Chandler Watkins, William Watkins and Ethan Watkins, and great-grandniece Nicole Hammons. Loving son-in-law to the late Ann and James Whittenbarger.

Billy was born May 18, 1967, to the late James and Marjorie Doherty. He grew up on the West Side of Cincinnati before the family moved to New Richmond. He attended New Richmond High School and worked in the building profession.

Billy met his wife of 30 years when she spotted him surveying at the Ivorydale Plant one day. The rest was history, with the love and life that they shared. Billy and Debi enjoyed a wonderful life together traveling, boating, and spending time with family.

Billy was a kind and old soul who didn't know a stranger and had a great sense of humor. He cared about his family and friends and was a very hard worker. He was always helping someone or checking on their projects because he was just that type of guy. He was a rare and giving person and will be dearly missed by all.

The legacy that Billy has left behind for each of us is to be a good person, live your life to the fullest, be kind, and certainly, to always laugh and smile. He loved with a beautiful heart.
